The story of us

Our Journey

Adolescence is vital for identity formation, heavily influenced by family, community, media, and peers. Girls often seek connections outside their homes, which can lead to declines in aspirations, self-esteem, and purpose.

Increased social media use amplifies challenges, worsening mental health and self-confidence among girls, as highlighted by recent surveys.

Founder Rosalyn Smith has always been passionate about reinforcing positive values and providing opportunities for the development of girls and young women physically, mentally, and spiritually.

In 2010, she was inspired by a vision and a blueprint from God to fulfill that passion, aiming to inspire them to believe in themselves and take control of their lives.

The organization officially launched on October 10, 2010, holding its first meeting at Woods Memorial Baptist Church. Following initial success, the founder expanded outreach efforts by establishing an official nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, now serving additional communities across Georgia.

LEADERSHIP

FOUNDER- ROSALYN SMITH

Rosalyn Smith, the founder of Angels of Virtue Girls Outreach Inc., is often described as compassionate, devoted, and visionary.                                                                                                       With over 30 years of extensive executive management experience her career has demonstrated a consistent record of success in revenue generation and customer satisfaction within government agencies, focusing on service and quality.

Rosalyn Smiths academic and professional evolution is a fusion of dedication, mastery, and vision. With commitment to growth, her collegiate accreditation at Queens College, Queensboro College, and York College, forged a foundation rich in knowledge and opportunity. This scholastic path empowered her with the insights and analytical acumen to thrive in diverse professional landscapes.

Beyond academia, Rosalyn sought specialized expertise, earning Collegiate Certifications in Organizational Leadership and Corporate Training.

Rosalyn has been an active church member since childhood, with both parents serving as Chairs of the Deacon and Deaconess Boards.

Her most gratifying spiritual journey since moving to Georgia includes becoming a Deaconess, taking on the role of Youth Director, and founding the Angels of Virtues Girls Outreach initiative.   All showcasing her commitment to spiritual leadership.

As Youth Director she developed and implemented programs aimed at mentoring and inspiring young people that helped empower the next generation to dream big and achieve their potential.

Rosalyn has always been driven by a passion for uplifting others through direct involvement in community service. Her journey began on the ground, assisting in various programs dedicated to feeding the hungry.

As she grew in her commitment, she took on leadership roles that broadened her impact. Serving as     Vice President of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women afforded her the opportunity to advocate for issues critical to the empowerment of Black women in our society. In this role, she spearheaded initiatives that fostered partnerships with local organizations and community members, ensuring that the voices and talents of Black women were celebrated and supported.

Additionally, she led initiatives focused on youth mentorship, recognizing the importance of nurturing the next generation of Black female leaders.

Her community involvement further extended to engagement with the Chamber of Commerce. Collaborating with business and civic leaders to create inclusive networks and build bridges between local enterprises and community wellbeing. Together, these experiences form the backbone of her community outreach background, a blend of grassroots service and strategic leadership.

She is honored to work alongside fellow changemakers who are dedicated to uplifting Black women and girls and strengthening our communities through advocacy, leadership, and empowerment.
